Synopsis:

Most photographers of wildlife tend to be fairly clinical; good portraits of insects, record shots of bird activity, great illustrations of plants and habitats.  However, sometimes we see images that are none of these things, but are never-the-less visually appealing – it is this that David calls Natural Art.

He suggests that maybe it is not necessary to identify the subject, as the shape or blend of colour is sufficient.

Whilst they have little scientific value, they have worth that cannot be defined, which can be called art.

Your Speaker: David Boag

David is a wildlife photographer and the author of 18 books.  The first of which was ‘The Kingfisher,' published in 1982 and containing a wealth of unique photographs illustrating the life of this remarkable bird.

For years his work has become the subject of television and radio, either in an advisory capacity or as a knowledgeable guest or presenter.

David lectures regularly across the country to a wide range of natural history, photographic and general interest audiences. And on numerous occasions has spoken at major conferences for organisations such as the Natural Trust, the RSPB, British Trust for Ornithology and the Royal Photographic Society.
