"Rolls Royce and the Silver Lady"
Presenter: Kevin Patience

Synopsis:
The Silver Lady or Spirit of Ecstasy mascot has been associated with Rolls-Royce motor cars since the early days. This is the tragic love story of a couple, Lord Montague of Beaulieu and his secretary Eleanor Thornton, who was the inspiration for the winged figure that has adorned thousands of Rolls-Royce radiators.
Your Speaker: Kevin Patience:
Kevin's formative years were in Kenya. During a spell in the RAF he learnt to dive, which lead to a successful career in marine salvage, working in both East Africa and the Persian Gulf. He is an established author of military and transport history. In recent years Kevin co-organises steam train safaris in East Africa and led World War 1 Kenya battlefield tours. Now resident in the UK, Kevin continues researching and writing, together with presenting talks on a variety of subjects..

Following today's talk all attendees are cordially invited to join us for refreshments, which this month is being hosted by our Writing for Fun.
