Synopsis:
The story of an epic challenge to become the first dinghy sailor to navigate round all 250 islands in England and Wales. Ken's boat Yoda weighs as much as a labrador dog and is only twice the length of your bath-tub at home. By attempting to sail round all these challenging islands Ken raised a considerable amount for two Cancer charities, but this was not a straightforward adventure. Told with lots of onboard footage, maps and stunning photos, Ken re-tells his adventures in an open and honest way, bringing to life the history and story behind such intriguing places as Deadman’s Island and the literary idyll of Burgh Island.
Your Speaker: Ken Fowler
Ken first came to Camelot Area u3a in November 2024, when he gave a fascinating account of sailing a 'Bath Sized Dingy' from Lands End to John O'Groats. It is with great pleasure that we welcome back this accomplished yachtsman to share with us yet another of his amazing adventures.
Ken's talk is being given solely to help raise money for Cancer charities.

Following today's talk all attendees are cordially invited to join us for refreshments, which this month is being hosted by our Thursday Poetry Group
